The Boonville R-1 School District is accepting applications for High School Activities Director for the 26/27 school year. Applicants must have a valid teaching certificate, coaching experience, and administrative certification.
The District is seeking organized, detail-oriented, professional candidates with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Director will:
- Provide leadership for the athletic department and place it in the proper educational perspective.
- Coordinate all MSHSAA-sanctioned activities for the district, implement rules and procedures to be followed during events, and oversee and monitor events for efficiency and safety.
- Cooperates with the staff and school administration in establishing, implementing, and supporting school policies.
- Monitor and enforce all safety rules and regulations governing MSHSAA activities,
- Evaluate coaching staff, provide professional development, and organize training for coaching staff.
- Arrange transportation for extracurricular activities,
- Establish and monitor the annual activities budget,
- Make coaching recommendations and/or hire/select coaches, sponsors, and officials,
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with booster clubs, community members/organizations, and media outlets
- Respond to parent/student feedback, issues, and other duties as assigned.
- Develop and maintain facilities and facility calendars.
- Manage video boards to include funding, sponsorship, and solicitation
- Maintain and establish positive working relationships with community organizations, local businesses, and stakeholders to support and promote athletic programs and the school system
- Works directly with the district transportation contractor to facilitate all activity trips.
- Perform such other duties as the principal, district administrator, and/or superintendent of schools may direct.
The Activities Director is a member of the District Administrative Team, directly reports to the High School Principal, and communicates with the proper chain of command. The position is a 225-day position. Applications will be accepted through October 10, 2025. |
